Confirmation card I made

I had a hard time finding inspiration for confirmation cards until I landed on this idea at the cutting cafe...here's the links I was inspired from...
http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/cross-shaped-card/
http://thecuttingcafe.typepad.com/the_cutting_cafe/bible-verses/

I changed mine up by adding a dove which is a confirmation symbol. I found the dove on google images. I was able to get the bible verses on my card by putting kraft cardstock into our printer. I just really like how the print adds a little something to the card.

I hope my nephew James will like his card! I'm also mailing one to my nephew Billy. Congratulations guys for making your confirmation!

Tea pot shaped Mother's Day card

I created this tea pot shaped card for my Mom for Mother's Day. I dowloaded this cut file http://www.letteringdelights.com/clipart:tea_time_party-10903.html and uploaded it to my SCAL program. I then cut it out with my Silhouette Cameo and paper pieced it together. The tea cup is an svg file I found on google images. I also used an action wobble behind the flower to give it some fun action. I just loved how it turned out. Thanks letteringdelights!

Video Game Controller Shaped Card

I purchased the video game controller from the Silhouette design studio library for .99 cents. I imported the file and then welded two controllers together. This is what you're seeing in this picture.
I then ungrouped one of the controllers and deleted all the buttons. For some reason it won't let me flip the controller to get the buttons on the right side. Doing that gives you this fabulous fun card for any gamer!
Here's the finished product!
Here's a better shot! I saw this somewhere on splitcoaststampers and I just new I could make my own! I really hope that my nephew likes it! Thanks for looking!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter Card!

  • Here's another Easter card I made. I followed another card sketch I found on the Peachy Keen challenge blog site. They really help me get started in a design. For this card I paper pieced a sleepy bunny I bought from myscrapchick.com. I uploaded the file to my computer and imported it to my SCAL program. It didn't take very long to piece together and it's super cute! I'm really loving the Silhouette Cameo over the Cricut Expression. It cuts awesome and I have a lot more options!

Supplies Used: white shimmery cardtstock, Reminisce Easter paper (from last year), bazzill swiss dot card stock, gems, twine, bazzill card stock, stickles, My Pink Stamper, swiss dot cuttlebug embossing folder, sizzix big kick, atg gun, foam dots, SCAL, Silhouette Cameo, corner rounder punch, and paper trimmer.

Blessings at Easter!

  • I made this at the beginning of the month for Easter. I followed a card sketch I saw on Peachy Keen stamps challenge blog to get me started (I wasn't able to send it in for the challenge as it was past the deadline.)

Supplies Used:  Bazzill swiss dot cardstock, Reminisce Easter Paper (from last year), white shimmery card stock, nestabilities, sizzix vagabond, gems, SU! basic black ink, copic markers, Peachy Keen easter stamps, My Pink Stamper, atg gun, foam dots, and paper trimmer.

  • Supplies Used: Silhouette Cameo, Silhouette Design software, Snoopy rubber stamp, Hero Arts silly scape rubber stamp, bazzill cardstock, Stampin Up cardstock, copic markers, stickles, foam dots, My Pink Stamper stamps, twine, glossy accents, gems, Stampin Up sponges, and Stampin Up ink.

Our new Dog!

In case you haven't figured it out we got a new dog! Back in September we rescued a very sweet sheltie from the Austin Sheltie Rescue Group! He's about 2 yrs old and we named him Wrigley (after my favorite baseball stadium). He is full of energy and a lot fun! Here's a picture.

Sheltie Valentine's Day Card

I was searching all over the places for a Sheltie SVG file and finally found one on goole images. I cut the image out for times to get the layers just right. I also used a free SVG file for the heart and embossed it with one of my new Valentine cuttlebug bug folders. How did I do?

Chicago Skyline Birthday Card

I'm originally from Chicago and I thought of this really neat birthday card for my nephew Nolan who turned 6 in January. I just love how the cameo is really good at cutting intricate pieces.

Cup Cake Shaped Card

I bought a $1 download from myscrapchick.com and made this cute cup cake shaped birthday card for a friend of mine. I used a cuttlebug folder and stickles to make the icing stand out. Quick and easy card.

Halloween Birthday Card

I read a lot of cardmaking/scrapbooking blogs and fell in love with the paper piecings from myscrapchick.com. Last night in the wee hours of the morning I downloaded the SVG file to my laptop and uploaded it to my Make the Cut software. It took me a couple of hours to do the paper piecings. I liked the layout she had on her website, so I brought it right to my card. The stamps are from My Pink Stamper her new Halloween set. I think it turned out pretty cute! Need to work on my picture taking...

Ice Cream Cone Birthday Card

I'm finally getting around to posting some cards I made the past few months. Here's a really cute ice cream cone birthday card I made for my 4 yr old niece back in December. This is one of the first cards I made using my new Cameo machine that I LOVE more then my cricut. The ice cream cone is an SVG file I found on google images.

Ventral Hernia Surgery repair

I haven't been posting anything lately and haven't had much time to play with my new Cameo! On Thursday the 12th I had surgery. I had a large ventral hernia and a small hernia that needed to be repaired. The surgeon had to do it open, so I'm in a lot more pain then if they were to do it laproscopically. I'm just glad it's all over and I am at home recovering. Is very thankful for sick time and a very supportive husband. I hope to be back to normal in about a month or so. Although, it might be interesting to see how creative I can be with all this pain medicine I'm on...LOL!

38 Handmade Christmas Cards

2 posts in one day...

Finally getting around to posting my Christmas cards. Here's a picture of all 38 cards...I couldn't even tell you how long it took to make...LOL! I did change it a bit and added a white
snowflake instead of the flower.
The last couple of year's I've been inspired by all the cards they make at the Archiver's store here in Austin. Here's the one my husband and I picked to make this year...I just loved all the embossing!

Here's the link for the instruction's and supplies.

Action Wobble Birthday Card

It's been awhile since I've posted anything...I guess life and the holiday's got in the way. I made this card for my Grandmother-in-law's birthday back in December. I used very fun action wobbles on the presents and I was inspired by some cards I saw on splitcoaststampers. Here is my take on it...

By the way, Happy New Year!! Still hard to believe that it's 2012!

Supplies: Vagabond, Stampin Up! Cardstock, Stampin Up! Ink, decorative paper, ribbon, sizzix sizlit gift die, My Pink Stamper stamps, pearls, and stickles.
